Information Gathering using Advanced Google Search - CHAPTER 2

Introduction

As I have described in the first chapter information gathering is the first phase of hacking,in this phase the hacker collect maximum information about his target, and rest of the phase depends on the information gathering phase. In this chapter I am describing one of the method hackers used by the hackers, rest will be covered in the next chapter.

Google Advanced Search Operators

Google advanced search operators are used to dig deep to the result.

1. [ cache: ] : used to display web pages stored in the google cache. Syntax : cache:website name eg. cache:google.com.



Open Google

2. [ link: ] : link command will list web pages that have links to specified web pages.

Syntax:link:website.com Eg. link:www.whitehouse.gov

3. [ releted: ] : related operator will display web pages similar to the described website.

Syntax : related:websitename eg.related:www.whitehouse.gov

4. [ info: ] : It present some information that google have about the target.

Syntax: info:websitename eg. info:whitehouse.gov

5. [ site: ] : This command will restrict the result to those website in the given domain. When we search a website on google it will result a lot of data that different website like facebook , youtube all have,by using site command we can restrict it.

 

Syntax : site:websitename eg. site:whitehouse.gov



6. [ allintitle: ]: This command will restrict the result to those website with all of the search keyword shown in the title

 

Syntax: allintitle:websitename eg : allintitle:whitehouse.gov

7. [ intitle :] It will restrict the result to document containing the search keyword in the title.

8. [ allinurl: ] It will restrict the result to those with all of the search keyword in the url.


9. [ inurl: ] Restrict the result of documents containing the search keyword in the url.

Syntax: inurl:website.com
